I began my professional life in engineering, working in a production factory where precision and structure defined my days. It was a respectable path, but not one that stirred my spirit. Deep within, I felt drawn elsewhere. Drawn to the mountains. To culture. To people. To stories.
Listening to that inner calling changed the course of my life, forever.
I stepped away from engineering and embraced the path of tourism, a decision that felt less like a career move and more like coming home. I was fortunate to be selected for intensive mountain guide training under experienced instructors from Austria, where I learned not only technical skills, but discipline, resilience, and reverence for the high Himalayas. I later completed the cultural guiding program conducted by the Tourism Authority of Bhutan, deepening my understanding of Bhutan’s history, spirituality, and living traditions. I completed both trainings with distinction, but more importantly, with conviction.
Over three decades later, my passion has only deepened.
Throughout these years in Bhutan’s tourism industry, I have had the privilege of guiding travelers across sacred mountain passes, into ancient monasteries, and through remote villages where time moves gently. As a tour operator, I design journeys with care, responsibility, and authenticity. And whenever possible, I still return to the field as a guide, because being in nature, walking beside guests, and witnessing their connection with Bhutan is what first inspired me.
Tourism, to me, is not an industry. It is a bridge between cultures, between people, and between the outer journey and the inner one.
My vision has always been simple yet profound: to offer experiences that honor Bhutan’s soul while delivering excellence, integrity, and heartfelt service. After more than 30 years, I remain as committed as ever, still learning, still guiding, and still inspired by the mountains that first called me.
